Thrift Store Favorite Of The Week

get this here
Last night at the Best Coast show at Granada Theater in Dallas we threw a great cat scarf that my friend had acquired from a garage sale onto the stage. When we met up with lead singer Bethany Cosentino in the parking lot after the show she said she'd tied it on her head backstage.
Here's to the revival of your grandmother's silk scarves as your new favorite accessory.

It's Mathematically Supported; Yesterday Was The Most Depressing Day Of The Year

According to Dr. Cliff Arnall, January 24 is the most depressing day of the year, based on calculations factoring weather, debt, monthly salary, time since Christmas, time since failed quit attempt (that idealistic new year's resolution we've all given up on), low motivational levels, and the need to take action.
Even though this kind of seems like a load of crap to me  it does make sense that people are beating themselves up right now about not keeping up with resolutions and stressing about money and hating the miserable weather.

Others also question the validity of this study. However, I've found myself feeling down and out this past week about all of these things. If the worst day of the year is over, at least it's only looking up from here. Time to tell yourself "it's probably fine" that you aren't running 2 miles a day or forgoing dessert and stop stressing about things beyond your control.

Since there's an equation and everything supporting it, know that the worst of your Seasonal Affective Disorder is over. Go make some shit happen for yourself.

Starting This Blog Over To Win Russ' Ipod, Promote My Blog, And Entertain Us All

I am who I am. Laura Anne Massey (but what's in a name?) Art major, sociology minor at Austin College, hippie freak with a background as the loner intellectual, turned social butterfly in college.  I try to make an effort to reuse materials as often as possible when producing my artwork and in everything that I do. I'm here to show you things that I love, things that I hate, and things that I'm creating.

I most of all want to show you all that, as my life motto encapsulates, without fail, IT'S PROBABLY FINE. That means that no matter what happens, if it isn't already fine, it will be, or it will cease to be. "It" being your current dilemma, or life itself. Don't stress. It's probably fine.
